Zoo with Friends

The first Friday I was off, Isaac and I went to the Houston Zoo with some great friends (old and new!) - Shannon, Maggie, Lilly, Meagan, Jagger, Judson, Stephanie, and Addison. This was my first "trip" without Sal and I was a little nervous. But Isaac did absolutely amazing. He slept on the way, had fun during the zoo, and slept home. It wasn't until he was with daddy did he have a melt down! Enjoy some of the pictures!

Stay at Home Mommies...

It's been almost a month since I started staying home with Isaac, I thought I would have so much time to do so many things. Boy was I wrong! I never knew staying home with Isaac would be so exhausting! I knew what mental exhaustion was but now I am everything exhausted! There are muscles in my back that are sore that I didn't even know I had. The second week I was home, I could hardly sleep because my back hurt so bad! I know I need to give us some time to get into a routine and stop being so hard on myself about why I didn't get to everything I wanted to. Have I cooked since I've been home, maybe twice eek! I wanted to cook more....so that is one of my goals this next week...if you have any fast easy recipes you want to share, leave a comment! Isaac usually takes a good nap around 4ish so I should be able to cook some easy meals!

So here is to all my stay at home mommy friends. I admire you more now then when I worked! You have a HARD job and at times a thankless job. Thank all of you for encouraging me! I am starting to get the hang of staying home with I-man! Oh and He's already insanely attached to me, I can't walk out of the room anymore without him freaking out....which is hilarious to me because for the first year of his life he was with Mary!

Way to go Stay at Home Mommies! You are the best!

Rockin Rollin

Grandma and Grandpa Zepeda gave Isaac this awesome Rock, Roll, Ride Trike for Christmas. It rocks, then you can transition it to ride (while mom or dad push) and then it becomes a trike! Isaac is really getting the hang of getting on and off the trike, and also rocking back and forth. He's so cute!

Helping Daddy...

We did a little DIY project this past weekend, we installed new/extra cabinets in some of our kitchen. (Huge thank you to my mom and dad and Kelsey and Shanelle!) Isaac decided to help out where he could :)

When Sal and I visit his mom and dad in Austin, we eat and eat and eat - yuuummm-oooo! His mom is an amazing cook and makes some of the yummiest food - food I wasn't raised on but my husband was. So of course, like any wife striving to make her husband happy, I wanted to make some of the food he was raised because I know he will like it (cuz lets be honest I haven't always made the best food *wink*). So I called my mom-in-law and she gave me the steps to make some spanish rice, yummy! And I did it, and it turned out almost as good as hers!! Sal and I actually fought over who got the last bite! I'm sure the more times I cook it the better it will get! Oh and I made enchilladas too!! Look at what I made!!!

Today for lunch we had pizza :) Isaac has had bites of pizza before but today I cut up some little pieces and he went to town! Oh My Goodness! He rubbed it in his hair, on his face, and he was even "painting" with the tomato sauce on his tray...so funny! Enjoy the pictures!

Rub-a-dub

Isaac's new thing is to splash like a crazy man during his bath. Here's how it goes, play, try to eat bubbles, play, bathe, wash hair, rinse hair, freak out, play some more and SPLASH! The whole floor usually ends up covered in water and I've usually gotten a good dousing too! The funny thing is that his hair is usually dry but once he starts splashing, the whole drying process has to start again. And he has a lot of hair! Anyways, enjoy the video, you'll see how excited he gets!

A new chapter has begun!!!

Today was my first day of the new chapter in our lives! I thought I'd be able to get up "early" and get a shower in and then be ready to face the day with Isaac...boy was I wrong! Isaac woke up sooo early - he woke up before 7 - which is really weird because when I was working he wouldn't wake up that early. Perhaps he sensed the excitement of knowing mommy would be home with him all day and it wasn't even a weekend! Or perhaps it was his daddy who got home this morning from work that woke him up...I'm guessing it was the latter! Either way we had a great day. He is such a trooper and we had fun together! I got a nap too!! WOOOHOO! I loved today! And I know I will only have two solid weeks with him and then I'll start subbing but I am still so excited to have more time with my little boy! The peace I have felt for the past two weeks is only getting stronger and my resolve is more firm! I am amazed at how much our Daddy God cares about us - He really does care, He really does want the best for us! I am certainly grateful to be in this chapter of our lives! Hooray! Oh and I really can't wait to go on our first Play Outing on Friday to the ZOO!!!! I will post pictures soon!!!

5. I love to read - mostly novels not so much self help or how to's - I love books where my imagination can run wild!
6. I want to learn how to sew - anyone want to help me learn?!
7. I have a degree in social work, but during my last semester in college I realized that social work is NOT something I wanted to do for the rest of my life...so now I'm getting my teaching certificate (5 years later)
8. I am afraid of disappointing people
9. My mom is one of my bestest friends
10. I could eat mac-n-cheese for dinner for the rest of my life and probably be happy, I may weigh a ton but I would be happy!
11. I desire a closer relationship with God but sometimes I just don't know how to get there
12. I pick things up off the floor with my toes :)
13. I met Sal in Bible School, had a mad crazy crush on him but never told him
14. I have only a few very close friends that I allow myself to be vulnerable with
15. I absolutely adore my husband, he's amazing, kind, loving, loyal and so funny
16. I have wonderful inlaws (parents and siblings) - it took a while to get where we are today but I am glad we stuck it out to get to know eachother better
17. Sal and I tried for six months before we found out we were pregnant with Isaac - it was the longest six months of my life
18. I LOVED being pregnant - I had an amazing pregnancy with Isaac, I was never sick and I even had a pretty good labor. I hope the others are that easy!

20. I am really fast at 10-key and typing
21. I like things to be in order- even though I am not detail oriented I like things to be in their place, when things are out of order it drives me nuts (like the piles of laundry that have to be done)
22. My husband leaves empty boxes of things in the refrigerator just to bug me (pizza boxes, coke boxes) he gets a kick out of irritating me
23. I need down time each day - not much on going out all the time, I like to be home with my family doing family things
24. I love chick flicks - I hate suspense/drama/scary movies, some suspense and drama is ok but no fighting and blood and guts, no thank you!
