When Sal has his days off I always find new pictures of our little boy on my computer...I know I'm biased but he is absolutely teh most beautiful little boy ever!!!

Chili - Yummy!

Tonight we had chili for dinner - I found this great super easy recipe on the Kraft website. **Isaac has now completely rejected any and all baby food, infact he won't even eat anything that is on a spoon - go figure! If he can't pick it up with his fingers and feed himself, he's not eating it. So tonight he ate chili with us!!**

Hey Moms, what did you feed your little one when they started to eat solids? I know he can eat just about anything we eat, but we need some ideas as to what may be the best for Isaac :) Leave a comment with your ideas!!!

Isaac and Ace

While we were in Austin we visited our friends Zach, Cheri, and Caleb!!! They have this huge cat, Ace. Isaac has seen a cat before but probably has never had the chance to come into close contact with one. Needless to say he was pretty amazed by Ace, and Ace was so gentle, he just let Isaac pet him, and follow him around.

Thanks Zach and Cheri for having us over! We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to many more!! We love you guys!

Yee Haw Cowboy!

Last weekend, we visited Austin. Our nephews (Isaac's cousins) came and visited and Zack wore his cowboy hat. Sal thought it would be funny to see how big his hat was on Isaac....well as you can see, it wasn't all that big, it actually fit perfectly on his head. What do you think that says about the size of Isaac's head? He 's been in the 80th percentile in his head size...I guess this is just more confirmation. Isaac fits into his 12yr old cousin's hat...sheesh!

Grateful

These past two weeks have certainly not been the easiest...but the desires of my heart are beginning to have life and a plan is being drafted...Anyone that knows me well knows I don't like change. I don't like the adjustment, I don't like the "unknown", and I don't like the growing pains...but this time it seems different. I am not anxious, I am not second guessing my decision. The only explanation I have for feeling strength, peace, and joy is that we are following the perfect will of our amazing God! This peace is overwhelming, even though we don't know how things are going to work out we know it is going to be alright. Today I was asked if I would rethink my decision, and I didn't even hesitate - if this had happened a year or a few months ago I don't know if I would have had the resolve I feel right now. Wednesday night our Pastor (Ron) talked about being Confident in our relationship with Christ. A way to be confident is to look back and see where you've come from and recognize how God has been faithful throughout all the things you've been through. Another amazing point is to recognize the God that is inside of us, remember that when we are weak the creator of our universe has a home in each of us, how comforting is that thought!? And at the beginning and end of the day I am reminded why I get up in the morning, why I chase my dreams, why we sacrifice...

So for those of you who haven't heard....

I RESIGNED!!!

I will no longer work for the City of Nederland effective March 3rd wooohooo!

Of course there is so much more to why I decided to resign (some really crummy things went down) but I have been talking about teaching for a long time now and this was the little push (ok who am I kidding it was a HUGE shove) that I needed to step out, trust God, and see what happens! Sal and I are so excited to move into this new place in our lives. I am going to take some time off to regroup, rest, and recuperate and then start the process of reaching my goals!

Thanks for all your prayers and kind words! They have helped been an amazing encouragement!!!

Change is coming...

...ready or not here it comes! I'll post more when I know the details, but we are resting in the peace that our God HAS A PLAN, He WILL SUCCEED, and We GET TO PARTICIPATE!!! Keep our family in your prayers, we will need it and will be relying on our friends thru these changes.

OH And I haven't forgotten to post the pictures of Houston, things have just been a little crazy!!

We're Back!!!

Sal and I had an amazing time in Houston but we were so ready to be back home with our little boy! I took some great pictures that I will post tomorrow but I wanted to pass on the Top 5 things about this weekend...I thought about them on our way home heehee!

Number 5:

5 AMAZING deals at Burlington Coat Factory - we saved more than half on everything - Sal got a snazzy outfit to wear to our fancy dinner and I got some killer grey shoes and awesome clutch!

Number 4:

It took us FOUR attempts at finding Lupe Tortillas!! Thank goodness for our navigator on my phone!

Number 3:

Three close calls with stupid drivers. The next time I get nervous when Sal is driving and fuss at him and he responds by saying "Who's driving?"I will remember this weekend. :)

Number 2:

Two of the best meals we've ever had! Yummm-o! Churrasco's and Lupe Tortilla !! Yummy Yummy Yummy! (I'll post more about this later!)

Number 1:

One great night in a wicked awesome hotel - but I do love my bed better heehee!

Like I said we had an amazing time in Houston, but I realized more this weekend that when you have a baby it changes EVERYthing. I didn't know I could miss someone so much...my sweet Isaac.

5 Years...

Wow - Saturday was Sal and My 5th Wedding Anniversary. We got married on Superbowl weekend (we don't watch football so this wasn't a really big deal) and this year it fell on the same weekend again! We've only gone out of town once before for our anniversary, and needless to say it left a lot to be desired *sigh* that's another story in and of it self! I digress...this year Sal is taking me on a mini get away!!! We are going to Houston for the weekend, leaving Isaac with my mom and dad :)

We're staying at Hotel Derek , eating at Churrascos and going dancing Friday!! We've never done anything like this before and I am so excited! I made the link to the hotel because I told my friend Shannon I had to stay there because of the pictures of the bathrooms, crazy I know but they look amazing!!!! We are also going to check out Central Market and Dave & Busters and of course IKEA!!! WOOOHOO!!

We leave Friday!! I will post pictures of our adventure when we get back. Until then, I need some advice from my seasoned mommy friends. How did you make leaving your little ones for the first time easier (on them and you)? I want to really enjoy my time with Sal but I have a feeling come oh I'd say 8:00 pm (bed time) on Friday, Sal and I may get a bad case of home/Isaac-sickness. During dinner Isaac got thirsty, so he gave drinking out of my glass a try!
