Isaac Growls!

It seems like Isaac is doing something new every single day. Yesterday he started making this funny sound with his tongue (kindof like spitting) which we laugh at now but I am sure in 2 years we will be scolding him for doing that...oh well! Today he started growling....yes I said growl. He had been making this noise for a while but today it was a new growl. Sal wasn't home so of course I had to record it for him and all of you to enjoy! Hope it makes you smile like it did us!!

The Great Outdoors

We've known for quite some time that our little boy LOVES being outside. He loves outside so much that sometimes it's the only way to calm him down. He also enjoys swinging with Maw-maw (our wonderful sitter) on the front porch, even when it is soo hot his hair begins to curl! Here are a few shots of him loving the outdoors!

"You Talkin to Me?"

Cereal....hmmmm not so much....

So Isaac is almost 5 months old (one week to go) and while Sal & I have discussed waiting until he was 6 months old to introduce food, his nights have been getting shorter and shorter (meaning he is no longer my "sleep until 9" baby, now he is "I'm awake and feed me at 6:30" baby) so I thought maybe he wasn't getting enough to eat. I am still producing plenty of milk, but maybe he's just not satisfied. So my wonderful friend, Shannon, showed me the ropes Saturday, what Organic Baby Cereal I should get, the kinds of spoons, even the containers to store it in....so I thought I was set. My mom brought the Space Saver High Chair, I got out the plastic bibs, and was ready for the newest adventure and coming to terms with the realization that my baby boy is growing oh soo fast. Honestly I was kindof saddened when I put him in the high chair, second guessing myself as to whether I should be introducing cereal so soon. So I gave it a try and took pictures (and a video) in the process...

Needless to say it didn't go over so well, Isaac did great in his high chair, but really wasn't impressed with his first go at cereal. I'm alright with it too, I think I needed to be encouraged to enjoy the time we spend together "eating" because not long from now he won't fully rely on me, which will be a whole new adventure for him, and possible test for me. So for now, we'll have the cereal on hand and spoons cleaned and ready for use for the day that Isaac really is ready to eat something other than what I can give him. Enjoy the video too! He's absolutely adorable, and I can only imagine what he will look like one day with green beans smeared all over his face!

They say grandchildren change you...well I do believe that Isaac has changed my dad. There is a side of my dad that has been hidden for so long, and we are beginning to get a glimpse of it, the joy of a Grandfather seeing his daughters son grow and laugh. I see how much my dad loves Isaac, how proud he is of him, and it makes me smile and makes me warm inside, knowing he loves my little boy soo much! I look forward to many more pictures of Isaac and Pops - enjoying each other, exploring the backyard, learning from each other! I love you dad!

Saturday, we went to the Houston Zoo! Isaac seemed to be most interested in the animals that were behind glass, because we could get closer and he could focus on them as they ran back and forth. He really seemed to enjoy the fish. His new talent is to make a fish face....we don't know why or how this started (other than his Gigi doing it to him to make him laugh!). Fish Face!

It was a great day with family- Isaac got his "First Zoo T-Shirt" and a "Wild Thing" Onsie! He crashed on the way home, I think we wore him out! We finished our perfect day off with a yummy dinner at Papasitos! YUMMY!

It was not such a good month, Isaac got sick for the first time, but he handled it like a trooper! Even when he was really not feeling good, he would smile! There is something that could be learned from him, no matter how hard times are find a way to smile!

I have to start somewhere....

Hi! So I thought I would try this out so our friends and family could keep up with our ever changing lives and get a peek at our growing little boy! Isaac was born New Years Eve 2007 and has been a joy from day one! He is absolutely the love of our lives! He makes everyone who sees him smile, his hair is unruly, his smile and giggle are contageous, and he is sooo curious! I have a feeling I'll be running all over the place once he gets moving! My goal is to update every few days, so keep checking in and see what we're up to!
