Ode to John Deer

While Sal's family was visiting during Mother's Day weekend, Jeanette and Kyle brought Isaac some John Deer goodies (they both work for John Deer and supply us with the COOLEST hats ever!). They brought Isaac 2 hats, a rattle that makes cow and pig sounds when up push the respective animal, and a corn teether that vibrates when you bite (press) on it. At first I was totally against the whole vibrating in your mouth when chewing on it, honestly what would that accomplish other than freaking Isaac out. Well last weekend, I ate my words. I gave it to Isaac just to see what he would do, and wouldn't you know it didn't freak him out he just held it there and let me push the corn. I guess it felt good on his swollen gums (he's got two little teeth under the surface, working their way out). So thanks Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Kyle for the great goodies and the corn teether!

Starting Early!

Remember when we'd climb in the front seat and pretend to drive while our parents were pumping gas? We felt so "big"! Here's our boy "driving". He was really using the steering wheel as teething ring, but it was cute none the less!

On Father's Day, we tried cereal out again on Isaac. This time he didn't seem to mind as much, he still made a silly face and gagged every once in a while but he actually ate some of it! So this evening while Sal and I were eating fiesta chicken enchiladas I thought I would see if Isaac would like to try a banana. He wasn't too sure at first but then really seemed to enjoy it! He even wanted to hold his spoon, which he gagged himself with later, but he was trying!

So we went a deli for dinner one night, and I thought I would see if lemon juice bothered Isaac, needless to say we found something he enjoys chewing on....oh and he wants to be a "big boy" so bad he tried to drink out of my cup!

"I'll take that, thank you very much!"

He didn't even flinch when we gave him a taste....

He actually took it out of my hands and began sucking on it...

Just like his daddy, he loves lemons!

On Isaac's 5th Month "Birthday" we went to the park and tried out the swings. Isaac loved them - but I think the motion upset his tummy! He left a little deposit in the wood chips...oops! We went and bought a swing for the backyard after I saw how much he enjoyed it! Now we just have to find the perfect place for it! Enjoy the pictures!

Isaac's Sitting Up All By Himself!!!

On Saturday (May 31st - Isaac was 5 months old) Isaac sat by himself for the first time!!! Gigi sat him up and he didn't fall!!! He had the proudest look on his face too! So over the past few day's I have caught him with my camera! We're so proud! He's growing quickly and learning new things daily! He also figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy this past Sunday! I tell you what, we have a genius on our hands! HaHa or at least his Mommy and Daddy think so!!

He Sleeps...

So much has happened in the past few weeks, I'll try to catch up! We've discovered that our little boy enjoys his sleep, especially when he gets it! When we moved to our new house, we finally got to use all of Isaac's nursery furniture!! This meant that he got to sleep in his own room!!! HOORAY! More sleep for mommy -he's a pretty noisy sleeper - better sleep for Isaac. Since that time we've been amazed at how much he moves during the night, we start him out at the "foot" of the crib and without fail he will end up either in the top right corner, totally sideways, or with his head towards the "foot". I suppose since he inherited all of his daddies good looks, he inherited my crazy sleep habits (I apologize in advance to anyone who has to share a bed with him!). He's also discovered sleeping on his side. I've posted some of my favorite pictures of him sleeping over the past 5 months - enjoy!

** Funny thing happened while I was trying to post this, I had put Isaac to bed (awake, we're trying to teach him how to put himself to sleep). He had been down for about 30 minutes when he started fussing, so I went into check on him, and he started squealing and laughing. I guess he wasn't ready to go to sleep! I had to just stand there and laugh, I laughed and smiled so much my cheeks hurt!**
